Hannah
An easy-going surfer chick who likes to have fun and make the most of her life – welcome to the RITES family Hannah!
What lessons you have learned so far, and how have these lessons helped you achieve your goals?
I think one of the main lessons I have learned, especially in the past year, is to be kind to yourself. With life being so crazy these days, it’s hard not to get caught up in ourselves. Most of the time we beat ourselves up for unnecessary things. For example, hating yourself for looking a certain way, when in fact we should be kinder and not make our own lives any harder than they already are. We should love ourselves for who and what we are.
Do you have a favourite quote or motto that you live by?
“Everything happens for a reason.” When times seem tougher than ever, it’s hard to see the positive side of things. This motto reminds me that no matter how horrible the situation feels in the moment, I will walk out of it one day with my head held high, having learnt great lessons to carry with me throughout the rest of my life.
What advice can you give to help others become the best person they can be?
I don’t think I fully understand how to be the best version of myself yet seeing as I am only 16 and still have a lot of learning to do in life, but the best advice I can give so far is to treat yourself with love and respect. Be the best possible person you can, not for others, but for yourself. Be a priority in your life and most of all be kind and true to yourself. Embrace your imperfections and what makes you unique!
Do you have any hobbies or interests?
I surf as much as I possibly can. The ocean is my safe place and heals all my worries and troubles. I enjoy growing and taking care of the plants in my room. One day I hope to turn it into a magical jungle and create a peaceful space for me to relax after a busy day.
